Welcome!

Welcome, from the Friends of the Medway Lakes Wilderness Area. Here, we've provided information, stories, maps, and other resources to promote the centuries-old traditional, non-motorized use of the wilderness area. We wish to work collaboratively with the province and other local groups to ensure that the wilderness remains a healthy, peaceful, wild place for generations to come.

History

Learn about the area's rich history as a wilderness for hunters, fishers, wardens, rangers, paddlers, and hikers.

Map

Search the area's canoe routes and old woods roads to help plan your next adventure in the wilderness area.

Stories

Read just a few of the many wilderness excursions - both old and recent - that have taken place in this wild place.

Leave No Trace Principles: Plan ahead and prepare, travel and camp on durable surfaces, dispose of waste properly, leave what you find, minimize campfire impacts, respect wildlife, and be considerate of other visitors. In other words, take only pictures, leave only footprints.
